My dream made me do it

I had a dream last night that I started a Substack. I don’t know shit about Substack but sometimes, dreams call.

The last time I had a dream that felt similarly, I was a college student attending LSU. I was a ridiculously loyal (taurus thing) Hooters Calendar Girl and there was a new competing restaurant opening in town… It was called Twin Peaks. My loyalty to my sweet, chicken-wing slinging moneymaker kept me from even CONSIDERING applying at the new local hot spot that was actually closer to my house. Everyone was sure to make a killing at this place and the uniforms were fucking hott.

BUT I said “no.” I had so many friends working there, managers I’d already worked with… but my Hooter Girl loyalty never wavered until one fateful night when I had a dream I worked there. It was so fun in my dream that the next day, without question, I decided to work there. The VERY next day training started. That job was responsible for so much fun, so many great friends and so many people and experiences that would help shape me (and my bank account) as a person while I graduated college and became a young adult.

So, anyway. That’s my long-winded way of saying, I had a dream that I should be writing this right now. So here I am, baby.

Truthfully, I was already exploring my writing abilities. I’ve been working on my first book and I have endless poems, essays and even skits that I’ve never shared. I’ve worked on eliminating my creative blocks in 2023 but that’s another post for another day… or a Substack. Is it a verb for a noun? I have no fuckin clue.

All my dream-talk and silliness aside, I can’t wait to connect with you. The more we screen-time and AI and content and blah blah blah… the more I crave humanity. There is nothing richer or sweeter or quite as luxurious as us. You hear that robots? You fuckin wish.
